The sport started around the 60s in Japan while in America
it began in the 70s. This sport has contributed to the emergence of other
fighting techniques that exist today. This includes jujutsu and mixed martial
arts. Techniques such as ground fighting and collegiate wrestling are also
hybrids that developed from this sport.
There are different rules that govern the sport depending on
where it is practiced. Generally participants are allowed to strike each other
using their legs and hands. Use of elbows and shins is forbidden. Each round is
usually about 2 to 3 minutes long. In between rounds players are allowed to
rest.
There are several reasons why this sport is important. You
